Got a call to do some work on a landy i did 2 yrs before,more rust to repair,up on the ramp i found the torch i thought i lost still stuck up there by the magnet

I lost a bit cold chisel underneath a staircase we fitted in London... went back about a year later and found it again.
Lost a 12" steel rule years ago..left the place I lost it and went to work elsewhere for a few years. Then went back. About a year after going back, I found it on top of a DRO on one of the machines.

I put items in places knowing i wont forget where they are,when turning the place upside down looking for them i find other items i did the same thing with saying "oh thats where that got to",still not finding the thing i was looking for in the first place................I swear its not me,its the fairys

im going with both those posts just one big thing im known for wrecking the place just for finding stuff everything is taken off the shelves if im in that mood its all dumped on the floor
then it gets sorted and everything put away in there better places then i can forget ive put them there
oh and its been right infront of me the whole time
its also the same in the house as thats when i also have a clear out, if it hasnt been used in 2 years its gone end of

Safety specs for me. I finish drilling or using the brushing machine, then they disappear. Same with ear muffs!

I ordered a book on Programming The Raspberry Pi With Python as I want to use a Pi for a new project, the book arrived last week so I went to put it on the bookshelf and spotted that I had already bought a copy of the same book 2 years ago!

This is my main job at home. Finding the stuff the hubby has managed to lose. Funnily enough, it’s not that I know where something is, it’s thst I know exactly where something isn’t, then I work backwards from there.
I have 3 exact same cd’s, all bought in the same month. I had promised myself to get a certain cd, so bought it, stuck it in a drawer, forgot, then bought another, stuck it in a drawer, forgot, bought the third, then found the other two in the drawer.

I lost the battery powered tyre pump, it's always kept in the cupboard under the stairs. My wife opened the door and just pointed and said "That one in the blue box ?" I had been looking for one in a green box so I didn't see it. She recognises that I don't see a lot of stuff because it's not in my eye-line as I am taller than her.

I sat in a friend’s house having a blether, when no.1 son walked in. “Mum, where’s my (insert lost item here), as he spun round slowly, looking at a level head height around the room. “i can’t see it anywhere”.
Mother pointed at item at his feet, and no.1 son left.
5 Minutes later, husband walked into room, and spun round slowly looking at a level at his head height around the room, “Have you seen the (insert lost item here), I can’t see it anywhere”.
Repeat, and rinse.......

All small tools that go missing and turn up at a later date are the work of the garage floor monster, this is the same little critter that leaves the gas bottles turned on so they empty themselves and turns the compressor back on to wake you up in the night

20 years ago I kept misplacing the garage keys so a mate screwed a hook in a joist just inside the door and by habit now I hang them up as I walk in. Doesn't always work as I lost them for three days once and turned the place upside down looking for them, just could not find them. Went to the motor factors and back in the car and found the keys as I reversed into the drive, they were hanging in the garage door lock!

Luckily, none of my thieving git neighbours had seen them either.I found my torch still stuck by it's magnet to the bottom of a tractor about 9 months after I'd last worked on it, given the abuse and muck the tractor had been through I was amazed it was still stuck in place.

I've done the vise grip thing, only finding it when the customer brought the car back for another job!
