LoRa and Software defined radio

Its a boring in the house Sunday for me so i have been looking at this on YouTube it looks interesting for a boring Sunday, the Software defined radio devices start for about £25 and cover a big frequency range i think i might start playing to see what i can pick up.

A lot of modern audio mixers & recorders now use software to implement filters, Low cut, High pass, reverb etc it allows you to change the filter parameters suppose its a logical move to do the same in radios albeit with faster processors RonA

I have 2 main ones, both Nooelec

They are connected to Raspberry Pis and I access them over the network, sdr console is my current "radio" of choice

I've done a few LoRa projects at work with really excellent results. Main project was monitoring all 800 odd 132Kv poles on Skye, spans the entire length of the island. Had to install 12 gateways in the surrounding area. Also sent some kit to the outer Hebrides to see if it would work and it did!. Pretty impressive to do 50km with 25mw and Omni antennas.

You can run the software on your PC - seems to work quite well - I was experimenting with it about 18 months ago
