Looking for solidworks tutorial

Hi
I want to learn to work with solidworks and therefore looking for tutorial/guide for it. I know that there is a built in help, but I'm looking for "outer" guide that I can put on my table and look into it, I think it's more convenient that way.

You could try the "Idiots Guides" ( no offence ) to see if they do one for your version of Solidwork? as a downloadable/installable version

I used to use plain old youtube , lots of good videos on there.

I'm a total newbe - that's why I would like to have some material/guide in front of me. I think that youtube guides are for a more advanced situ.

I found the built in guide excellent; I got thrown in at the deep end by an employer and that guide was all I had, and it does cover all the features to some degree.

+1 for the built in guide. They can seem a little long winded but will have you up and running in no time. Have some mulled wine to wash it down with - will make it seem a lot better!

As someone who has spent a lot of time in front of a monitor and constantly needing reference material. Id recommend getting a second screen to work with.
Most laptops have a second video port and so do most pc's.
Or if the Pc hasn't then a new graphics card with 2 video connectors is cheap.

It makes organising your work and referring to Different sources so much easier.
Works especially well in programming and designing tasks as you can have the main screen for the work and the second screen for documentation/reference material and often tool bars can be moved over as well making more screen room for what you are working on.

Old crt screens can be had for nothing on freecycle and flat screens are very cheap now even new.

I've used Eplan for electrical drawing/design work, when installing the software it recommends 3 monitors!

You can follow the built in tutorials for the most basic stuff. From there I went to youtube.

There is a book called solidworks bible that goes into things with more detail, I have it at work and its pretty good. They are available on amazon
