Looking for Plasma cutter

Hi
I could do with some help, I'm looking for about a 40amp machine that can use a 13 amp plug at lower settings for portable use. I was looking at an r-tech P40HF but was put off by the 32amp supply needed.

I will also be using a portable air compressor all of the time with no drier

The 30amp machine that they sell would run off of a standard plug,and only has a 4mm smaller cutting range.
I don't think you would be happy with any plasma cutter, if you don't use the dryers and filters.

I use my Clarke plasma cutter with just the filter supplied and it works OK. I do have copper pipework with simple moisture traps built in which will help.

You need to work out what thickness you need to cut rather than how many amps. A plasma stream is measured by power in reality. You need to look at arc voltage as well as amps to see how much power it produces. A 30 amp hypertherm will out perform most 40 amp competitors. This is down to design and development over many years. A Powermax 30 will work on its entire range on a 13 amp plug top. It does not boast the biggest cut capacity but it is an honest figure. You ceratinly wont get 40 amps out if you can only supply 13 amps in.

Portability

I really wanted something to cut 12mm mild steel, so plenty of power for work shop use, but when needed portability.
