Looking for Fein adapter

One of my Fein multitools is an early model, The blade location relies just on clamping force, No location pegs etc, And the blades often move in use, I have seen in the past An adapter that fixes to the head with some small Allen grub screws, I have spent ages trying to locate one of these adaptors but cant find anything, Hopeing somebody can help me to find the information, I did attempt to drill the head to fit a couple of of location pins but it is ultra hard, Cobalt drill didn't even leave a mark.

Not sure on the model but is the adaptor to change to bosch style blades? That might help your searching

The adapter that I'm wanting just uses the original style blades. The later model had small pegs that the located the blades in various positions, these are my blade type, And I have quite a few of them so need to stop them moving.

This is a long shot so please bear with me.

I think Fein, along with Bosch, were the originators of the Starlock multi-tool system. If yours is an early Fein, does it pre-date Starlock or is it Starlock?

If it is, then maybe have a look at Bosch spares (e.g. from Miles Machinery) and see if anything could be adapted to fit.

What model is it and do you have an online reference to an exploded diagram so we might cogitate further?

Tool is called a multimaster, Data/info completely worn off .. Image of the blade attachment head, just round and smooth, nothing to hold the blades in a set position, only the clamping force of the centre screw and washer,, I have seen the adapter I need but can not find it at all, It fits over the round head and attaches to the sides with Allen grub screws, Here's hoping!!

Thank you Hitch, I did see those, And wondered if i epoxy some zirconia sanding sheet to the clamping washer, It is a good thick item, I did try to remember the name of the Diamond ? paste that increases friction, It contains lots of very sharp edged crystals apparently,

Probably just needs a new washer as they wear , ime adapting to pins is a waste of time.... just do it up tight and don't force it

It looks like what is in the video is no longer available (video is 10 years old). Website no longer working. Video comments suggest this also. In practice, I am not sure how effective it would be as it just uses three grub screws on the side to hold itself in place.

Maybe make one and use some good, pointed and hard grub screws and in addition Loctite it in place. If you make its OD a little bigger, you could make a C-shaped cap that fits around the reduced shank of the tool and bolt the adaptor on, again with Loctite.

It also occurred to me that with some good masking, if you shot-blasted the mating face of tool and washer, you would increase friction.

I did wonder if the grub screws would grip the O/D of the head, knowing how hard it is, Think I am going to try the abrasive epoxied to the washer face, Its worth a try,

Thinking about it, three dimples made with a carbide burr on a die grinder have a lot more wiggle room and would still be successful than the two difficult-to-drill and precisely-placed pins in the face.

Feed back,, I have glued some fairly course abrasive paper to the clamping washer, and up to now it is doing the trick for zero cost, Watch this space will report back in a while when I have used the tool more,
