By the way I noticed another error of mine, 3ph transformers are beneficial mostly for MIG. Not relevant anyway as you have only 1ph.

If it’s farm welding I wouldn’t look past a transpocket, miles ahead of a oil cooled, them oil cooled are alright a pain to bring anywhere other than sat in the corner of the workshop with long leads and there an ac welder with no hot start, great machine but times have come on along ways from there. An inverter you can bring anywhere easy on power, that wat I’d buy, and I’m 20 years welding, I started with old air cooleds then I got an oil cooled was a big step from there but transpocket in a different league. Honda sincro are a savage welder round 2 litres of petrol an hour. Dear way of welding,

Fronius are the top of the pile in terms of welding equipment I’m sure a good warranty applies and fully repairable till they become uneconomical to repair I’ve mine 5 years and it’s been in some fair bad wet conditions working and it done some welding never missed a beat

150 amp burn 3.2mm rods all day 180amp burn 4.0mm, weld 50mm thick with multi pass with that never mind 15mm

250 mig grand for making new stuff no good for farmyard repairs work at height etc. and not the most portable.

A 160amp+ lunchbox inverter from Fronius, Lorch, Kemppi or EWM. Whatever dealer you have in the area. They'll all run 4mm rods comfortably.
There's so many reasons to have an inverter over a transformer these days that i won't even start. Those who are still recommending oil cooled transformers obviously have never used a decent inverter in anger for everyday repairs etc

There’s a good hanging strap on them I do usually hang it where I can and when the conditions are wet, a trolley isn’t really necessary

Think I’ve a 25 foot lead on mine no issues but I have ran 50 no issues.

Your probably better off buying a big honda petrol generator like such
https://www.donedeal.ie/tools-for-sale/honda-7kva-petrol-generators-metrix-/28035904 and buying the transpocket, more versatile that combo, I have the Honda welder sincro dc unit, its fine for fitting work site work but I wouldn’t use it as my every day welder a pig on petrol. Them ac welders are a waste of time there’s a switch on the front of them to change between welding mode and electricity, very annoying if your up a ladder and have the welding leads with you and maybe you want to use the grinder walking back down to flick a switch
