True but like Shox Drs Kemppi the cooler carries on for a few mins when you break the arc. With mine it runs on for 2 or 3 mins even if just tacking the thinnest of thin stainless. I'm normally wearing ear plugs anyway as most of the tools associated with work make annoying noises. Even paid helpAt least your cooler only cuts in on arc initiation Hotrodder, mine boots up on the switch and stays on continuous.
Those bloody esabsThat's one beauty about the magic waves. Fronius call it "fuzzy logic " I call it the quietest ac wave I've ever experienced. Even with high freq it's no more than a humm.
The ESAB I use at work becomes unbearable without ear plugs after some time. My pump is a piston type and I can hear it over the ac.

I have a dynasty 200dx,I think the Miller has "Fan on demand", meaning the fan will only come on when the machine senses it's above a certain temperature inside. Look at the datasheets, there might be noise level ratings if your lucky but I doubt it.
The retail price you've most likely seen is far higher than i paid, dont thnk i paid much more than a regular pedal as i bought mine the same time as the machine, dealer cut me a good deal,Mmm, that wireless pedal is cool, I imgine if your welding a cage then the cable tangling itself around the tubes would get very frustrating, very fast. It's seriously overpriced (as are all pedals for that matter) for what it is but it must save loads of time so it must pay for it's self eventually.
Someone (me) might have started on one for an IFL.Im surprised someone hasn't brought out wireless add-on, for other makes.
Lincoln has.Im surprised someone hasn't brought out wireless add-on, for other makes.

Ooh, Hadn't thought of using bluetooth, so far I've got the Amphenol connector, digital potentiometer for the receiving end, everything to build the pedal, just need another μC and the wireless modules, had been planing on using a couple of NRF24l01's but bluetooth might be less affected by the HF.Doesn't the pedal contain nothing more than a 3-wire potentiometer on most pedals anyway? Seems like a simple enough thing to make and control by bluetooth/ardurino.
