I currently have a R-Tech 161 ad/dc machine which I bought to set my business up with, nearly 4 and half years ago and I've never upgraded it because I'm happy it does what I need without being too expensive, only problem is it can be a little guess work setting it up as there is no digital output so I find trial and error comes into play and can take a few mins to get back to where I was last time I did a particular job, and of corse it does struggle on the heavier alloys only being 160amps max output.
The other draw backs I found was factory touch wasn't very good and the "free" pedal was *****, but as I say biggest problem was no precise control of the machine imho.
I'm in the position to get a better machine, the one that looks like it fits all the that I need is the Kemppi MLS ACX 2300 what is the ac balance range on these machines?, I've looked at the Miller Dynasty 200dx but it's allot more cash and doesn't look like it has as good duty at top end, other than that I'm not really up with current models and machine/brands, so is there anything else I should be looking at in the sub £5k price range.
What is the thickest allot Im going to be able to properly weld on these machines without a water cooler?
Cheers in advance and merry Christmas.
