bet it wasnt as bad as the van my gaffer bought . a mobile butcher had it and manky blood allover in the back the smell never did go and was worse when it was hot

I repaired a truck trailer that had been transporting hides, there was blood everywhere, you don’t realise the salt corrosion it causes, it was terrible. Had to cut through all the floorboard screws to find major rot in the gussets. Kinda rank knowing what had caused it.

we had the skinyard in town for donkeys years hundreds of pelts just stacked on pallets ouside permanently . the whole town stunk when it was warm and windy

Yep I know that smell. The hot grinder reactivated it as I was cutting the boards!

A few years ago I put in a new bathroom for our daughter, she'd bought a house that for years had been let to a long list of likely non rent payers (judging by the mail from debt collecting agencies that arrived for at least 18 months after). One or two interesting subscriptions too.

Put in new pipework under the pine board floor - phew, the smell of urine reactivated by the blowtorch. Enough to make your eyes water.
Dirty so and so's, not so particular where they sprayed...

Once the daughter smelt it - we put a new floor in, she decided she couldn't lie in the bath, thinking what had been soaking into the old one.

Sounds like the Purina factory in Sudbury; they must have changed something now as I haven't smelled it in years but on a bad day it would stink out the surrounding villages.
