Longest unstarted project

Following on from Winchmans post about unfinished projects, who has the longest 'round tuit' or 'being planned' project?

I'll start. I've been telling myself for the better part of 15 years that I'm going to make a turbo jet just as soon as i get my hands on a decent turbo...except ive had 5 sitting about at various times and still not made one...buying the tig was partly motivated by a desire to weld stainless for this very project...had that 9 months and still not made a start

Building a trials car from scratch . . . been thinking that since I was 19. I'm 55 now . . .

I have some parts for it . . .

But been chopping a Dutton kit car up into a Class 8 for the last few years.

My contribution here. Well I won't go into the unstarted ones as I have a plethora of started but not finished ones. Most visible one is the front fence. Started about 4years ago, original fence had been there for about 20years, timber posts and had rotted. Slowly the fence was deposting and derailing it's self. No problem I thought I will get some posts and rails and put up a new one. Cost of timber posts and rails . I can cut the rails from trees around my area and get gal pipe for the posts through my work contacts. Trees acquired, all that is required is a saw mill to cut them. Checked that box. The old post came out quite easily as rotten, just need to drive the posts into the ground about 1m no digging. Need a post driver capable of driving 100 gal posts about 4mm wall thickness. Checked that box. Cut on the plasma the retaining plates to hold the rails to the posts and had them galvanised. Post driver deployed with the young ones (children helping)to drive them in. Well 10 post in directly into the ground, no digging, was it easy . The post driver supplier said it would do it on problem, p!!s it in . Lets no forget that there are 13 post to do. Rocks in the ground and post will not go in. No problem I thought, I will get a longer spike for the jack hammer (one item not purchased for this project) break up the rocks and drive the posts in to the correct height. Did that work. Well I thought that I need a bigger hammer, what could I use that would be fit for purpose. A post driver attachment for Elisabeth (5.5t excavator again not directly acquired for this project, checked that box). Looked about at what is available 700- 800jouls of impact energy (air operated post driver about 120j from memory) that should be a suitable upgrade so I got a 1350j driver. Post driver checked that box as well.
Now the fun starts, put the new driver onto Elisabeth, all connected up, post driver cup pressed onto a old pallet and accessory hydraulic button deployed. Did it work, well hell yea. Smashed to pallet to bits with .5 sec burst. Looks like it will be fit for purpose. Walked Elisabeth to the fence posts that needed final driving and the worst one three hits and down to height. Love Elisabeth's new toy.
Trees need to be cut into rails. Saw mill which had been assembled 18months earlier was dragged out, Elisabeth came out from hiding also, fitted with a 5 finger grab to lift and place the logs on the saw (band saw mill 31" capability). Found out that the band saw doesn't cut that straight, it will rise and fall a bit over knots. So eventually all rails had to go through the thicknesser (already owned ) then through the table saw for width (also already owned) and finally all corners were routered with a 3mm radius cutter (again already owned).
Now all I need is the time to get it competed and then start and complete the longer side of the front fence. I have all the steel structure for the 'green house' build (14m long by 8m wide and 6m heigh) all constructed ready for assembly, but no time. The cockatoos and correlas were particuarlly savage this year. They destroyed 85%+ of the mandarins, lemons, oranges and nectarines. This cannot happen this season. Well I feel better after my rant, I have many more projects all of which need completing!

My workshop, it's little bit my fault but it's more my brother's cause I'm not into concrete honestly so I've not the competences to make it on my own, so I have to rely on him who has no time
