Hello One And All.
I've been hovering round this forum for several years and decided that eventually it was time to join in.
Day job's in IT - metalworking is just one of my hobbies.
I'm a time served Fitter/Turner but left engineering in the 1980's to follow a career in computing and I've been careering around computers ever since.
I've always had an interest in engineering, have a lathe (inherited from my dad), welders, grinders, drills etc. and always pottered.
I've no interest in making a living at it, I'm far too slow and prefer the process of getting from start to finish in my own time rather than the bean counter's time.
I do enjoy playing with the tools and repairing them etc.
I finally bought a Cytringan Bantam a couple of years ago and am currently cleaning it up ready for a repaint. It was owned by a blacksmith and had a blacksmith's look about it but underneath the oily black grinding grit and grime there was a good welder lurking. It cost me a £100 and was within a mile of home so how could I refuse.
Next to it is another of my future projects - when I get the time
