But it's £1500+ for the cable plus what ever cleats/cable ties to hold it in place and labour to run it.
Makes £20 a year for a couple of sim cards look reasonable.
Not that I would trust the reliability of a sim card if reliant on them to provide livestock with water. .
Thats the problem, on a few of the jobs we have been on in recent years our clients have been lured into sim/radio signal type gate systems and they have all been removed because of reliability issues, one in particular couldn't get access to his property for over three hours and was receiving gate messages from another system in America. Pretty sure he sued the company, he has since gone fibre optic. That fibre optic cable was over a mile long and installed in a duct, much cheaper than the swa version.
