Mk4 golfs and d22 navaras
Everything else he was the end user. Timberwolf, unimog, most tractor brands. He even wrote off a chieftain trailer ffs.
I rebuilt a forwarder cab after he stuck a trunk through it with its own grab.
Definitely a 1.9pd golf or Passat of the early 2000s era mrk4 in golf terms. Cars that genuinely will go on forever if looked after.
Having commuted by bike for many years refuelling became *very* tiring. I certainly wouldn't like to regularly be doing 500mi/week by bike unless it was saving me many, many hours.
I've just done 1,830 miles in 2 days in my diesel A6, totally comfortable and it did ~42mpg mostly doing 80mph on cruise. No car i'd rather have, the thing eats up the miles.
.get something with a magic carpet ride that won't be tiring to drive I reckon. If you don't suffer with back problems you will if you get an uncomfortable car
M4, M5, M6 can be a cruddy run esp at peak periods - it seems to me its rarely quiet (not a surprise given the run goes to/from/past major central conurbations throughout). The journey is M4-M5-M6 with about 10 minutes at each end. All Motorway, really. Cardiff to Preston.

After spending our savings on private healthcare I have to be buying at the bottom end of the market.
250 mile range isn't too tiring for me, however sitting in traffic gets very tiring, very quickly. I don't understand why people are prepared to that day after day?Having commuted by bike for many years refuelling became *very* tiring. I certainly wouldn't like to regularly be doing 500mi/week by bike unless it was saving me many, many hours.
