Genset in general is okGenset had to be the worst quality sets ever made. Lombardini and Ruggerini diesels were passable when in good order but very expensive for spares (at least in UK) when gone wrong. If only for occasional use, I would look for something such as a Haverhill 200 Amp with Honda petrol engine (normally a few for sale for not too much money). 3000 rpm air cooled diesels aren't quiet even when new so you need to have plenty of distance between you and your neighbours.
My Lister lpa3 10kva runs at 3000rpm and has done for over 20 year's. If you get the correct engine it will last.Worked in the welder genny hire buisness. NO TIME FOR ANYTHING DIESEL OVER 1500 Rpm Our neighbouring sister PLANT depot tried to pass off a load of those things onto us. I condemed the whole dam lot. With my bosses full blessing. They dumped thier crap on us once before. Before I started there.
