ive been asked if i can make a log splitter, for firewood
i have been given some spec, in as much as it has to be strong, hardwearing, and above all, must need no power source other than a human.
im thinking, box section frame, with a thick plate on top to place log on, and arm coming off the top of the frame, sticking out the back horizontal, and another arm, hinged at the end of the first, with and axe blade for the cutting edge, and maybe a car suspension spring to lift the axe, so it can be sort of, bounced down onto the log and then spring back up clear, with minimal effort from the operator
does anyone else have any other ideas? as i havent really made anything with this sort of working purpose before
