I've been using this stuff in place of Loctite 638 for a couple of years now. Has always done the job OK, and is hugely cheaper than the Loctite product.

I decided to give this a try that Stueeee recommended. One of the main reason is the manufacturer also does an activator which i was looking at if it had been a loctite product. My application isn't critical, but i needs something to fill small gap to stop rocking. All it is, is a steel handle pressed into a head but due to the nature of the handles which are pre made they are not totally round, so a small gap fill is necessary. These shafts are double pinned with 6mm silver steel so they are not going anywhere fast.
I did look at the Jb weld and i admit i have never used it before, but i wanted to steer clear of epoxies. I use them other jobs but it wasn't right for this job, due to one part being a casting which is plated and getting overspill off will make mess so i wanted something more viscous and slower setting and easy to get off the cast head.
I will give this S.A.S 638 stuff a try and report back in due course.
Thanks for the input guys.
