It’s Cosco, don’t know if they used a windy gun or not as you can’t be in the tyre bay when car is in there.
The male part of the key is snapped in the female part of the bolt. Don’t know if they have the spinning outer or not
I can’t do the job my self as I’ve told Cosco I’m not a mechanic and don’t have any tools plus they won’t cover costs if I damage the car
They have been good and said they will cover costs of any work etc etc, but I’m loathed to use BMW with thier exorbitant costs then spend the rest of my life chasing bills and reimbursement, just don’t need that headache in my life just now
Car is a 63 plate F11 BMW 520
I’ve spoken with AA this evening, they can do it but was a 5 hour wait. Store was closing and was -7 in Milton Keynes so didn’t fancy waiting outside. I’m gonna try setting this up in the morning. If AA fail I’ve a Mate lined up who will do the job for me and provide an invoice

I have fitted tyres with out removing the wheel, for a car with a flat, before now when the key was miles away, cant understand people saying they keep the key at home for safe keeping !!
Used to do the fronts on trucks that way, it was quicker.

Well it isn't 100% daft
If you have locking wheel nuts and keep the key in the car then thief smashes the window and then steals your wheels
If you keep the key at home then he smashes the window and doesn't steal your wheels.
I prefer the option of having wheels that are so bad that no one wants to steal them and have no locking wheel nuts

i had a set like that and removed them by welding a bar to the top of them and then used a pipewrench to remove the nut
With the bar being exactly the right length so you get throw them really quite far so you would never see the damn things ever again

Found a chap on the Internet, he came from reading, 100% guarantee that he could do the job. I didn’t see him do the job as I was counting out the money but it took him less than 4 mins. He charged £240.

You didn't fancy trying the socket + BFH method, then? You probably have the equipment already, cost to you....Nil.

I fully understand .. but in their eyes they employ a 'mechanic'.... which is how you ended up needing it fixed :-(
