Locking wheel nuts

went a well known American Warehouse Store to have my tyres changed as I had a flat

On the first corner they’ve broken the wheel locking nut key

What’s the best way to have the nut remived. My car is stuck at thier Warehouse

Any decent tyre place should be able together them off

Or drive with flat tyre around the corner and call the AA as they have a magic kit

I had the same with my locking wheel nuts, if you have the code which is usually found in the cars documents folder you can order a new key, which is not great if you have to wait a couple of days for it to arrive, or as mentioned most decent places have a trades set for removing them.

I ended up throwing them all away and fitting normal wheel nuts, simply did not want the hassle again.

I'd be asking them how they intended to get it off if they broke it?....

Depends on the design but i've got a few off for mates by belting a decent socket over the stud/nut and undoing them that way.

If there the ones without spinning ring just beat a slightly smaller socket over them .
If the have the spinning ring there’s a few ways to do it all type depending do but any half decent tyre center should have no problem getting them off

I have removed some by driving a socket over the nut with a fbh, but this dosn't work for all locking nuts.

What car is it?
Some places have master sets,
Otherwise there are a few tricks to help removal
The mcguard sets are the worst to remove.

and once they are off throw them away - no one nicks alloy wheels anymore.

I have removed them with the spinning sleeves, Small diameter dremel and grind through the sleeve on two sides, sharp smack with a hammer and small chisel cracks them off.Them whack a tight fitting socket on to it, All 4 done in about 25mins.

My mate was using a windy gun on the Volvo and by the time i got down stairs he has killed 2 of the locking nuts and the tool, They were the ones with the spinning outer and we had a few ideas to remove them but in the end i found a box of TCT die grinding bits and managed to use a drill and some WD40 to lube to tool, It took a bot of time but it did the job with no damage to the alloys.

Get rid of them but if they are something you think you need never ever leave them in place when taking to a tyre place, always undo them yourself and put them on again afterwards.

Knowing which store you are talking I suspect the most likely senario is the person who had them off last time did they up way too tight. Those store have probably the cleanest carefull tyre bays out there and from what i have seen they always do things properly.

Those Volvo one are a mare to get off but they are one of few brands where some dealers keep a master set so you get replacements, I had to weld a nut on my latest V70, the wheel was scabby anyway so I wasn't too bothered

Are we talking Costco? I'm surprised but I'd be jumping my own height until they found a solution.
Why couldn't they find the key?

I take the ones on our cars off. Was watching a video the other day about thus and they used the socket method, appeared to work well

If they made a backside of removing the wheel, odds are they'll damage the alloy using 'work-arounds'.
