Evening all,

I've had the run around today trying to find a local engineering firm (I need to get the threaded top on some Bilstein shocks turned down on a lathe). I've found no firms still open local to me and those further afield are not interested in what is a relatively small job. Anyone have any recommendations in the Liverpool/Skelmersdale area?

It took me ages to find a good firm when I lived in Manchester but I'm now reluctant to drive all the way to Hyde for such a small job.

I also am looking for a metal stock holder for sheets of Zintec and some other metal stock for projects. Any recommendations? Same story really, I knew where to go in Manchester, but not in Merseyside/West Lancs!

RJW, MR Engineering, there are a few fab shops on the Dock Road, not sure of anywhere in Skem.

Dick Jellico Yes thats his real name, they do any work from one offs to mass production, every time I use either company the work is excellent.

Not sure is they do sheet, I use them as I can buy one length of tube angle etc, I am certain they will point you in the right direction.

I use Higson Edwards in Bootle for all my sheet steel and strip/angle.
