Linseed oil

Rawlin's Paints - Boiled linseed oil has not actually been boiled, but is chemically modified with metallic solvents for faster drying times. Standard or raw linseed oil can take weeks to dry, sometimes longer – making that the main difference between the two types of linseed oil.

I think to have obtained the asked results.
The handle looks pretty nice colour, feels dry, and it's shining at the ends.
I'll let dry for a week and give another "coat" if needed .
But it not sticky or oily .
I'll upload pictures if I can make some ,I always forget to make them

@Memmeddu i used boiled linseed on this shooting/ walking stick. Titanium tube flame coloured, walnut handle. You have to be patient though each coat was hand rubbed over probably two weeks. The beauty of this method any

damage / scratches can be easily sorted by adding another coat. It’s hard wearing as well

@ronan i’ve tried all sorts of different mixes and proprietary stuff but a bit of time and linseed oil seems to be easier.

I'll drag my shotgun out, i stripped the stock and fore-end and hand rubbed that as well turned out quite good (I know i need to get a picture)

I tried boiled linseed oil on shotguns years ago and gave up on it. I remember one gun i had that i did with it and it just wouldn't dry. Danish oil is good, dries very quickly. I did a hardwood case from a level i bought a few weeks ago with it and it turned out great and dried in a day or so.

I found with anything that dried quickly i didn't get a truly even finish, because I always ended up "dragging" the drying surface. Hard to explain but I've tried all sorts. Linseed just takes ages, but worth it in the long run for me. I dare say there's many, many and different potions that people have found to work for themselves. But I'm happy with my method.

I applied the Danish oil with 0000 steel wool, and it came out like glass. I'll take a few pics in the daylight and up them here.
