I'm pickling some tools with small amount of surface rust in vinegar. When clean I'm not sure what to coat them with to stop rust again. In the past I've tried oil but with it not drying messy to handle. Another thought is linseed oil. Thinned down with white spirit and tool dunked before allowing to drip then the excess wiped off.
Obviously will take a while to dry.
What is the opinion about this idea ?
Thanks.
