linking 2 air compressors together to increase FAD

have tried it with a blow gun and both compressors turn on within a few seconds of each other. when i used the setup with the plasma cutter which uses more air at higher amperage it goes back to only the small compressor doing all the work.

the plasma cutter takes 230 litres per min.

my guess is the plasma cutter isn't using that much air

no matter what yu do, one will run more than the other - unless you're using more air than they can both produce put together

if you want the larger one to run more and the small one to run less, turn the pressure up slightly on the large one

the arc cuts out on the plasma cutter when i cut over 25mm thick and its severence is 50mm. the metal is clean and earth is good changed all consumables, new electric supply to workshop not many years ago. Manufacturer told me it could be to do with not having enough FAD.

is there a pressure gauge on the plasma cutter?

or maybe hold the plasma torch in the air and pull the trigger - so air comes through but you're not cutting

then you can watch your pressure gauges and see what happens

yes there is digital pressure gauge on plasma cutter. have tried that and pressure drops around point 3 of a bar when small compressor is running.

I deffo think that's a problem with the plasma cutter then... probably getting too how and cutting out :-(

have tried turning pressure up on plasma and then it won't work at all keeps cutting out straight away because pressure is too high. so i turn it down a bit then back to same problem with arc cutting out on thick stuff.
