I've got around £500 to spend on a stand alone linisher for the workshop. Single phase, preferably new.

Happy to update here.
I dont know how I managed without one, great piece of kit.
The Zirconia belts last ages.
I can reccomend the Draper one 6 months down the line.
I have made one small mod to it, I slotted the holes on the tool rest so to remove it for working on concave edges it is just slacken the bolts and slide it out of the way.
Just looked on Fleabay, the range of prices is amazing.

I picked up a Sealey linisher locally a couple of years back for a good price with a stack of cheap belts, I'm waiting until they are all gone before buying some Zirconia. I think this one is more intended for woodworking as on steel a little more power would be better. The basic machine is quite good but let down by the tinware, plastic guards and alloy sanding table, particularly the table mounting bracket, it's awful! Had I bought this new I would have sent it straight back, grossly overpriced as with a lot of Sealey stuff.

The belt table can be lifted up to 90° and the alloy table mounted in front for heavier profiling work but is a bit of a chore to set up and take down hence the disc gets used and lasts no time! Changing the stick on discs is a pain too but a belt change takes seconds if you leave one screw out of the end guard. The on/off switch is poorly positioned too. Not much I like about it really! (This machine is on my hitlist for modifying!)

The Draper unit looks better built and value in comparison.
