Unless I've overlooked something, wouldn't the simplest way be to drill and countersink equally spaced, vertical holes through the rails so that vertical supporting rods can be attached to the top of the rails, which can then be affixed to a stronger framework above, roof joists or similar? It'd be a simple thing to cut a channel out of the top of those bearings so that the vertical rods would pass through the upper part of the bearing as it slides along the rails, whilst leaving enough of the bearing surface intact to firmly grip the rails.
