very anoying when stuff is listed like that, it ain't worth the £700 he's asking tho.

if you need an engine drive and have the work for one you can allow it a bit more budget and get a decent one, bet that old ford lump is a right hoot to wind up in the morning

Be an old ford d series motor. Which reminds me, I know where there's one just sat because the coupling broke....

A mate of my dads had one with a D-series in it. Wasn't too bad to start if it was above freezing. It's basically a Fordson Major engine so not bad if the injector pump coupling isn't shot.
Dad had (has? might still be sat in a shed somewhere) the 3 phase version. Really, really nice welder to use but heavy enough to make the neighbours 300A oil box seem light.
I think the last diesel one I saw sold at Carlisle made about £500-600. ISTR the philistine who bought it wanted to nick the engine for a tractor
