Guys, I’ve not had my speedtec 200c long and it has only been used a couple of times. I’m just learning with it. Today it seemed to be doing something a bit weird...the wire would feed normally for about 10 seconds then stop feeding and the gas would cut off. This was resulting in the wire sticking to the piece / burn back and basically everything going pear shaped. After the wire would stop, releasing the trigger and pulling again would start it again but it would do the same again. Just looking for any thoughts before I contact the supplier. I did take a wee video but I’m not sure if I can post it from the phone. I’ve added a pic of the current setup. Any help greatly appreciated!!
Sounds like it is on spot welds, Is the lower left spot or burn back symbol
Spot Timer
adjusts the time welding will continue even if
the trigger is still pulled. This option has no effect in 4-
Step Trigger Mode.
It doesn't look like it's in spot weld mode from the screenshot... looks like regular 2 step mode?
Even if it was spot weld mode, it shouldn't burn back to the tip. You could confirm by putting into 4 step mode and trying to run a long weld, then you can't blame the trigger.
Sounds like a control board problem to me. Or a possible connection overheating... checked the input wiring? It could be something simple triggering overheating/undervoltage errors.
Cheers guys....Lower left symbol is just standard synergic mode. One above it shows 2 step trigger. I don’t think it is set for spot welding.
I’ll have a nose at the wiring but it is on a dedicated 16amp supply and the machine is only a few months old & used a handful of times so far.
