Lincoln Electric Invertec V205T AC/DC tig welder.

I'm kinda in the middle about coolers... my world is mostly aluminium so noisy water pumps (and/or fans) aren't so noticable while welding and the cooler switches itself off after a few mins when the machine is left idling. If my bread & butter was DCEN work it'd bug the crap out me and i'd happily lug something a bit bigger & heavier about for mobile jobs in exchange for some peace & quiet while welding

That Kemppi rotary pump sounds interesting, any chance you'd a have a part # or manufacturers name for them to hand Jim? I'm guessing it's not that different in appearance/size to a charge cooler water pump?

I had the covers off mine a couple times and from what I recall it was a shurflo or flowjet type inline pump with motor. I'm not sure you'd squeeze it into to Lincoln easily. You also have to bear in mind these pumps with the motor on the back get bloody warm heating everything up around them which is part of the reason those types of coolers are so big with lots of space for those motors to breathe. They tend to have oversized rads and fans to keep things cool. The pump in your cooler hardly gets warm. So everything can be squeezed up to it with little effect. It may work. Only one way to find out.

Baring a noisy cooler it's pretty apparent the v205 is a very good unit. Not many live after a 3 foot drop.
To the op as said by Jim Davey keep an open mind and consider other options too. If your looking at used ones and even considering perhaps older units machines like the murex tans tig 201, ewm triton 220 and Fronius magicwave 2000 can be sourced pretty low cost when they pop up. I selected those 3 as I am familiar with them and they are very good if you can find clean examples.

No option for an integrated cooler though on the 230v model. The 3 phase has one and I've suggested they rectify the lack of cooler option as a matter of urgency as that's how 95% of the AC TIGs we sell go out the door.

Completely agree. 220 is nice. That's an added advantage over the new dynasty already. The tetrix and Mls amaze me how they offer the full 230 from such a small input. You notice it too. The 210 on my Rehm felt slightly restricted the other day when I had her maxed out on a swing arm repair.

Must be difficult for the manufacturers to cover all bases with the various max amp options,
The new smaller dynasty is now 210, up from the previous 200,
no reason why they couldn't of made it 240 amps to outgun the 220/230s on offer from others,
all it would do is remove sales of the not much larger but higher priced 280?

Would you still get that from a 13amp plug though. I could with the mls.
