I've found the red ones that Machine Mart sell for about 8-quid are a good compromise between thickness/protection and dexterity.
I like them better than some pricier ones I bought tbh.
(I often just wear the Left one, and wear an ordinary protective work glove on my right hand - I find it lot easier to move & operate the gun that way, and just keep my right mitt away from the hot work - though I dare say this is bad practice)
Tig gloves are a good compromise. They'll stop all the UV light and 99% of the sparks/ metal blobs. I've only had one or two go through them in many years, cue frantic hand flapping and removing the glove lol.
I got some Rhino TIG Gloves (white leather with blue gauntlets) off Evilbay after seeing this thread. Got jammy and won 5-pairs for about a tenner for the lot, brand new and in the wrappers .
Anyway - used a pair today for the first time (starting to make a large H/D sliding-bolt style lock assembly for the workshed/bike shed to beef-up security given his thing are nowadays)..... and they are brilliant!
Lots more feel and dexterity, great fit, comfy as, and good protection. I used them for grinding, cutting and welding - which is much more awkward in welding gauntlets.
