Thanks, didn’t think about air ones but might be a good option. At one stage bosch were claiming they had the lightest one on the market.
Not sure if it still is?

Sitebox Ltd » Bosch GWS 20-230 Lightweight Angle Grinder (240 Volt Only) » Product
Bosch GWS 20-230 Lightweight Angle Grinder (240 Volt Only), , Powerful 2000 watt motor , With a weight of just 4.4 kg, light and compact for o..m.sitebox.ltd.uk
Metabo do a "low vibration" one which is actually about 1kg heavier than the bosch but possibly nicer to use for long periods.
If you just want really light then go for an air powered one. I have got one if you want me to weigh it up but at a guess I'd say it's about half the weight of any of the electric ones.
Just had a look at the prices of a air 9" grinder, think they are going to be too expensive. At one stage bosch were claiming they had the lightest one on the market.

Glad to have been helpfulWent with the Makita from Screwfix 4.7kg, my other grinders are Makita and I really like them so hopefully will be good.
Probably not fast enough to create the heatWhat about one of those 7" vari-speed polishers? They are pretty light and probably powerful enough for shrinking disc.
