Clearly the most important element in that title is the Elandmig 175.
There's me, welding away, creating some lovely seams and in between strikes the thing decides to stop the current, Twiddled the current setting knob a bit and no different. Wire feed works fine, so the trigger must be ok. Checked the connections and the earth, checked for over heating but was cooler than me. Checked the fuses, though they must be associated with the low tension side so not really suspected, and they were fine... Even blew the insides out with an airline as a special treat for it! No funny smells, no acrid smoke. No burnt out transformers or circuit boards, just no current. I ran a tester across the terminals in the machine and came up wih continuity. My only conclusion is a grubby connection on a relay contact somewhere.
I'm curious to know if anyone has had a similar problem to myself with their Eland and what was the cure?
