My iPhone has just updated itself to the latest of many incredibly important software versions, after,me putting it off for a year or so. For lord only knows what reason the URL bar is now at the bottom of the page on Safari, when every other web browser in the world has it at the top.

This really annoyed me when it happened but I found a way to put it back. Couldn’t for the life of me remember how now sorry.

Don’t! Putting a dashcam in a lorry the other day and a woman voice started talking. I just ignored it thinking it was the radio. Bloke who’s lorry it is came in to the workshop - seems I hit the emergency button with my ass and called DAFaid who couldn’t attract my attention so called him.

I’m sure that service is useful to someone somewhere but god knows who….

When they rolled the 360 portal out, you had to register for that separately, as I recall. Requesting any previous data be transferred across is a simple process.

Being a real life technophobe could you clarify a couple of points for me 360 portal register data
transferred my technical support ( eldest son ) keeps telling me shouting swearing and banging all the keys won't make my laptop do what I want it too but it makes me feel better . I find compoteering very frustrating and not logical in the slightest

HSBC just updated their phone banking app. It looks crap, old fashioned and cheap. And of course they have changed the way things are labelled, and how tasks are done, and the location of several things.

I have three complaints on the go with HSBC concerning their phone banking app. It is absolute rubbish. Slow to load, slow to work and when you've finished, you can't exit the app by pressing the back button.
Contacting them is nigh on impossible, you have to use Facebook, twitter or some other social media, or write or visit a branch. I don't do social media, post? and they have shut all the branches near me.

Both my wife and I have had our joint credit card suspended in the last 20 min . My crime ? It appears I haven't verified my card with the provider & I don't have a smartphone so they cannot play games with me . Ended up using my PayPal instead . Wife's card is verified and often used but No , the account is frozen till we get hold of them sometime tomorrow , when our important to them call remains unanswered for three or five hours or more. .

Yep, in my case, a simple sentence after how to press the Blue tooth buttons on the laser with the words, "once pressed, use the App to pair phone to laser" would have solved it all. I reckon there is a whole lot of people who write the manuals or design the software who have no clue or no real world experience in anything. Life is definitely getting complicated, ringing a larger organization, you get an automated answering device and after selecting several options, you end up with "due to an unprecedented covid situation we have a greater than usual call waiting time, your call is important to us, so please stay on the line". So after hearing that same message for about the 15th time over 45 minutes to an hour plus, if you're lucky, and don't get cut off due to a time out, one comes to the conclusion that they really don't give a crap about talking to you, and you have just wasted part of your life that you will never get back. You still haven't solved your issue and you then have to start all over again, but you can't, 'cause you have just thrown your phone at the nearest wall and then jumped on it several times for good measure . Heaven help you if you have multiple phone calls to make, you would have just lost another day or two of your life.

As for computing when I started in 1984, you bought some software and a computer, and you would get lots of manuals on how to use the software with it. Now you could spend 1 or 2 thousand dollars on a phone or computer with a ton of apps/programs on it, (most of which you will never use) and no instructions on how to use the ones you want, they just put the onus on you and assume that you will figure it out. Not to mention the gazillion pages of legalese that you have to agree to otherwise you can't use it.

The idea of moving to some remote part of the world to live in a small house or shack in a village where there is almost no bureaucracy, no internet or phones, and just spend my free time fishing and actually talking to people who care is starting to sound more appealing as I get older.

Vote no, by taking your buisness else where….you will then realise they all use the same app designer and customer service consultants.

You live in Australia, that must be one of the easiest things to do as you have lots of 'nothing' all around!
