Lidle radios low battery warning, can it be fooled/hacked?

You answered yourself. No easy solution. DAB radios have always been heavier on batteries than conventional radios; I only have mains powered DABs.

I'm working on my plan, just need occasional battery use and max duration isn't essential.

Your own answer is the best, but how would you get them to fit?
A little mains inverter and a yuasa 12v or whatever would work, but it’s all a faff.

Buy another set of batteries and swap them over every 25 minutes.

Double damn re pedantry, anyway recharge takes longer than 25 minutes...

Easy, do what I did when MOT came up and i had a broken ABS sensor. Cut the wire to the warning light

you need to borrow the battery from the Oxford Electric Bell with a step down voltage converter......its about 2000 volts and had been working for 175 years, funny thing is that they dont know exactly how it was made or why it still works

If you are unable to source lemons, do not attempt using limes as a substitute, wrong polarity you see.

Can these dab radios get stations from outside your own country ? Irish radio is poo on a stick and i cannot listen to it. Could i get bbc radio in Ireland ?

The problem is that you are unlikely to get enough signal where you are. Your best alternative is Alexa. Then you can listen to any of the stations that you know about and many that you wouldn't imagine. For instance, Solid Gold Gem AM. A bit like a grown up Radio One from the 70s and no adverts.

I use an old ipad in the shed to listen to radio 4 and the like, via the tunein app. I just thought the UK stations might be available on dab too. I'll stick with what i have so.

Try Li-Ion rechargables rather than Ni_Cd?

My old 20 yr old phillishave still holds charge for 3 months with daily use. Totally incredible. Shave every day with it. Nicad. Far far longer than my brother's modern lithium one.
Before charging I always let it run completely flat with the lid flipped so no load. Also power it up again several times to make sure it is totally discharged.

Philips make great stuff, we have a Philips vacuum cleaner and its donkeys years old.
