Lidl tungsten grinder

just thought I'd share this after my recent trip to Lidl.
The built in flexi drive is great to chuck up a tungsten and has variable speed too. For less than £30 it's a great dedicated tungsten grinder. Not sure what grit the wheel is but it's pretty fine compared to most bench grinders.

So how do you find it so far? Is the small radius of the wheel producing overly concave ends?

Only tried grinding 1.6 tungsten on it so far. Had the magnifying glass out and it doesn't appear to be concave. Haven't had time to get any welding done with it yet, hopefully give it a crack tonight and see how it goes.
The wheel does groove up easily though if it's not moved across the wheel.

The stone will grove in time but it doesnt matter, you can still sharpen in the groove before it is too deep and flattening is necessary. The wheel is wide enough to accomodate 3 groves at least so you won't use up space that fast, seems you have quite a lot of sharpening. If you are going to use it for sharpening the tungsten only then there is no problem at all.

Yep, you're right it is aldi, Lidl have been **** poor for tool goodies

To sharpen different tungsten sizes and change them fast keylessly, try to buy a dremel drill chuck.... and of course you can also add a post to keep the angles steady...
