I'm wondering if that air saw has a variable speed control, as it looks like there is an adjustment screw in the handle ?
If it does, it might be adaptable to use with files, which might make it a great addition to any metal working shop.

Don't think it would be very good as it's not going to be practical (or even possible) to lift the file for the return stroke so it'll end up very blunt very quick.

Its nearly impossible to buy decent files anymore anyway. I have scoured any tool stockists near me and all they do is rubbish with stamped teeth and horrible plastic handles.

Is that needle scaler any good?

I bought one last year to clean up some of this stuff, it was no good, really slow to do anything and used a lot of air, never used it since.

In the end I got most of it sand blasted.

You need a whopper of an air compressor to power any of these tools. The little 50 litre ones just aren't up to it. When in college we were told that air tools are 9 times more expensive to run than electric tools. I have a big compressor in a shack outside, and all i really use it for is spray painting.

Doesn't affect the performance but gun wash strips the paint of the spay gun.

needle scalers knock 6 shades of sh ,,t out of everything as aptly called for removing scale that's about it

So in other words that twenty quid may well be better spent on some coarser media for my blaster...

Yes, the advert says

• Ideal for coarse removal of paint, rust and stubborn dirt

It was no good for any of these, sandblasting and jotomastic smartpack sprayed with the lidl spray gun gave me this. Would have taken days to clean up with the needle gun.

The data sheet says it should be sprayed airless but it went on ok at a high pressure.

I don't know what you think is an adjustment screw, there isn't one.

You could use a diamond or other abrasive type file rather than a traditional one.

I have an Ingersol Rand brand impact wrench overseas which "has" a trigger adjustment screw that can limit the air flow, and the amount of torque you desire to apply; of course the speed on the Lidl saw could be adjusted by a pressure regulator; but then, it's nice when you buy something that has a common feature of the past, in a time before products were built to a price point.

I don't know what you think is an adjustment screw, there isn't one.

Fine for a home workshop where production or making a living isn't an issue.

not sourced in my local as of yet they are advertised outside but they wasnt any on the inside as im after the hose may get the tyre pressure kit as well

We have an Aldi 24l compressor and have used it for inflating tyres and spraying Gravitex underseal. It is great for both these jobs, but I rather optimistically bought an Aldi sand blasting pot and an impact wrench when they were flogging them off and it's not up to the job of powering either.

You wont stand a chance with sand blasting but should be fine with a impact wrench, probably the fittings and airline letting it down.

Unless I'm forgetting some I think that every impact wrench I've used has some means of reducing the power, cheap units are usually a rotary dial at the air inlet port.
But, I can't really picture a scenario where you'd want to limit the airflow on an Aldi/Lidl/any cheap impact wrench. Flat out they're about 1/8 as powerful as a decent unit and are only really useful as high air consumption nut spinners. They don't have the power to tighten or loosen anything worthwhile.

they're only 1/4" bore so that may be restrictive and cause a decent pressure drop with tools that have a high air consumption.

My reply was in regards to weather or not there was an air adjustment screw on the Lidl reciprocal saw in the add, so I mentioned my Ingersol Rand tool as an example of a feature available on older tools; from my dinosaur era no doubt, lol.

Found one of the sandblasting kits in a Lidl close to my work so bought it.
Il hopefully get a test of it tonight.

Tried it on a set of badly painted BMW alloys and it worked well. Limiting factor is my 50 litre compressor but I can't fault the gun for a tenner.
