Lidl Plasmas Coming Soon!

Round here (SE London) the plasma cutters are in the Lidl middle mythical isle right next to the unicorn horns, rocking horse poo and hens teeth, I gave up trying to get one years ago.

I went to three different stores to find one and only came across it by chance

I notice on the leaflet that they are showing some tools that are not actually being advertised for sale yet, that look to be from the Parkside Pro range.

One does not need to use the built-in compressor. I’m sure that a dry air supply, from an external compressor, is the better alternative to a potentially ‘un-dry‘ supply in some circumstances.

I thought the built-in compressor would be more convenient/give you options to take the plasma cutter elsewhere where an air supply is not available.

I do have a compressor but I don't leave it on/topped up. I am one of those fools who turns it off and drains it every time after use. Therefore, a built-in compressor on the plasma cutter seems ideal for me.
However, if you can also give the plasma cutter an external air supply, all the better!

I think you'll find that the built in ones are much more limited in amperage/material thickness
that they can cut.

I believe that you can hook it to a bigger compressor if you have one.

This is an odd looking connector on the back (from the LIDL website) - does it look like a hose connector?

Ironic that they put an electical hazard warning sticker closer to the air inlet than the mains switch

Push fit connector, remove bung, add a short length of hard plastic tube to whatever air cobblenector your system uses.

You guys broke me. I got one this morning.
£140 with the Lidl plus coupon.

I also tricked my mate into getting one

There were a few left at 0845 at Blandford Forum Lidl.

Probably not, as it is not mentioned anywhere.

I will probably only get a chance to try mine next week as I am off to France for the RWC tomorrow. Maybe somebody else can confirm/deny today if it has got pilot arc.

I was too harsh, they do exist in Lewisham, at 11 AM they had two of them now they only have one of them.

I have to say the display space allocated to them was no bigger than four boxes.

Believe me there is more room in the back of my car than there is in my garage. It is the reason I have only been watching the forum rather than contributing not a lot of interest in slowly shifting two sheds and a garage packed with stuff from my Dad's estate.
Slowly getting there, I was actually able to get the bike out and re commission it after a post c word three year layup, still need tyres and MOT though.
