Lidl Parkside angle grinder bearing change?

Got a reply this morning -

The want me to send a scan of the receipt (expected) and then...

They want to deliver me a prepaid envelope, for it (a 2.5yr old £20 grinder) to be sent to Germany, where they will then test / assess / repair or replace!

I can't see how any of that could be cost effective, unless its some sort of research, but I'll play along all the same!

I have, however, just got back from my local lidl £20 lighter. And they had about 8 left when I was done too.

Ill have a look at this new one and see if I can't get some more greese in there before it starts its punishment.

Last time I had problems with a battery charger, they asked me to e-mail a copy of the receipt and then just sent me a new unit.

You was lucky then,I emailed em and they gave me their supplier which was actually in the uk,the supplier wanted the receipt and the power tool....sod it wasn't worth me losing the P&P price.

I always thought that if an item is within warrenty the place you purchased it from gave you your money back or a replacement,I wanted a replacement but they said stock is exhausted and a repair would be in order because i didn't want £20 back.
