Liability Insurance

As some of you may know I have made a couple of bicycle frames. I'm hoping to sell them to like minded idiots that love to ride bikes down hills.
We have registered with HMRC, and are trying to sort out all the other nitty grittys...

Our main stumbling block at the moment is insurance! I was hoping you guys had some advice on the kind of insurance we may need and also some brokers or providers that you know are good and helpful.

i would expect they will want a lot of info to be able to insure a product that carries people

Yeah looking for product liability, but most places don't want to touch us as we are welding in a shed, too much fire risk...
Ideally we would want prod. lia. on it's own, but no one wants to do that for us either.

Try Simply Business, I have my insurance with them , unlike most companies they let you select just the insurance components you need, public and product liability come together, everything else is optional

ive just run a qoute online for my public liability and its £800 less than ime paying now plus £100,000 free legal...would you recomend this Simply business as ime thinking of changing over as ime up for re-newal very soon

I've been with them for the last 3 years, I originally saved about the same as you, the premium has hardly increased in that time.
My renewal for the 4th year has just come in, £6 up on last year so no complaints there,
They are one of the few that will quote for hot work online, most wont even quote at all if you mention welding or blowtorches.

yea in my game the mention of hot bitumen and hot torch gets them running for the hills...cheers for that as ime seriously thinking of going with them

Try the nfu,they are excellent @ paying out when you need them most.

How does fire risk to your property concern product liability cover? Public liability, perhaps. But that's a different cover?

It's been a while since I had to shop for such things...

Simply Business told me they don't cover manufacturing?!?!
