Left handed?

I wonder how many of you are.
I always have a surplus pile of gloves,mostly rigger ,as they’re my preference,if there are many of you,perhaps I can do a glove swap,I have a growing pile .

I have a couple of nice hide rights going spare, can trade for lefts I don't wear a glove on my torch hand which is right.

The thing is, as everything is designed and taught for right handers, most left handers become both handers and better at everything

Dont know if theres a genetic basis for handedness, I think its simply which side you prefer at the age of 5 or whenever it is you get taught to write, and with practise that side becomes dominant and far better connected in the brain. Lefties often realise that both hands are useful before its too late.

Definitely a family/genetic trait, wife is a lefty, her father was, our grandson is & our son isn’t when writing, but is just as likely to use his left for other things. My wife & her father were strongly left, to the point of being useless with their right hand.

I'm slightly right handed, I use a computer mouse in my left hand, but set up for a right hander. Play pool (badly) left handed, but drive a shovel right handed. Dad is a forced right-hander, left hand tied behind his back at primary school. Can right with both. Better right-handed.

I am left handed but use the mouse with the right but pretty much can use either Dad was left but could write the same with both hands, as well as writing normal and mirror at the same time.

A few anyway,I occasionally have a go for a while,just to “keep my hand in “ just in case I have to after an accident.
Funnily enough,I snowboard as a leftie.

I did not realize how much i use my left until this thread popped up...righty here but use a nail gun in my left, use an impact driver with left and carry most heavy stuff with the left all intricate stuff with right.

Yes, my brother always ran to the right side of the window to pull back the curtains when to see who was in the yard when we were children, he is left handed, I blame the position of the entrance gate for it all. He is impossible to carry anything with, always twisting against you.

Thats not a lefty thing he is just odd ! If you cant or unwilling use your non dominant hand to open curtains then that arm will really suffer later in life.

Now interesting thing is as a lefty, I am right legged which is much stronger. I cant activate one of my left calf muscles without physically using the leg while right I can do any time.

I’m right handed but can use my left for many tasks. Could kick a ball equally well with either foot, not bad for a no8! Can shoot off both shoulders, more accurate off my left but slower, That’s rifles and shotguns. Can’t write with my left hand though

Have you tried playing piano, am right handed and dreaded learning piano, but in short time I found it as intuitive as using my right hand, must be in the mind.

Right handed. Dad was a lefty, ate and wrote that way. He was a teacher specialising in kids with learning problems and was fascinated when he saw me write something in Arabic, which goes right to left, do the same as a lefties writing Latin script. As soon as he saw it he said "yes! Your wrist drops back!". In other words, there's never been a reason for kids not to be allowed to write left handed. He was really pleased because he'd always said that.
I have a mate i play music with who I never realised was left handed because he plays guitar right handed...because he was forced to learn that way. Doesn't slow him down though, he plays beautifully.
