LED house bulbs

Six years ago I dropped a string of LED xmas lights into an old brass ships masthead lantern I have. They've been switched on ever since, only being turned off briefly when we moved house a couple of years ago.
Not a single bulb has failed, they're still flashing random patterns 24/7.

Happy with the very cheap LED panels from aimtools that I have in the shed.

Don't know if these are the ones you mean, but they're currently very cheap

Yes same ones but mine is square type.

Some of them seem very variable - I fitted seven in the lounge a number of years ago - the two on the most are still fine . . . the five that aren't used very often have failed in no time at all in terms of running time.

There's a 5W bulb in the three fitting lamp above me right now - fitted the same time as the other two a similar number of years ago - two failed in quick succession within months of fitting, so I took them out, but didn't have anything to replace them with - and having discovered one 5W is sufficient . . .

We've some dark bits of our house and 5w led bulbs stay on permanently and last years, five or six.

The ones in the living room, kitchen, get changed a lot more often, where they get turned on and off many times a day.

Another curious thing, 6 years ago nothing but 75 watt tungsten philaments, when I changed them all over to led I expected to see a reduction in my electricity bill.

Wasn't really evident.

I reckon alot of bulb life is hit and miss.

I bought cheap led bulbs from ebay some failed very early, 1 went very black filled the fitting g with smoke and tripped the power, however not changed one for year and a half maybe 2 years now

My last role at work was QC, so pat testing hundreds of fittings a day. Meaning bulbs would essentially be switched on and off hundreds of times a day. My personal experience was a brand called Lumilife. I believe there are a UK company and found their bulbs lasted way longer than others and they took serious abuse. No affiliation to them, just my honest opinion
