Led bathroom mirror

My Mrs has bought a new bathroom mirror! She bought one with led lights as this would be 'useful'. What she didn't take into consideration, and neither did the equally 'useful' bathroom mirror salesman, was that it would need power to make it work!! Not too much of a drama tbh as the wall it's going on is a stud wall. The bathroom light is the last light on the upstairs radial light circuit and there's a socket handy I could take a fused spur off. I'm sure either would be fine as there's RCD protection but which would be the preferred option? Or which would meet regs? I would ask in an electrician forum but they are usually pointless as annoyingly rather than answer the question everyone says "if you have to ask you should get an electrician"

either off the lighting circuit or of a fused spur with 5 amp fuse off the sockets providing its outside of the bathroom and rcd protected. which ever is the easiest . it p...sses me off when someone asks advice and people come along with smartass comments you shouldn't be doing this and that

Lighting circuit would be much easier as I wouldn't need to install a pattress for a fused spur. I wondered if it would need an isolator switch if it's wired as the last light in the radial light circuit? Might be a good idea anyway even if not strictly needed. I could also wire it in as a bathroom light so it's controlled by the light switch too? Can't imagine a scenario where the mirror would be on but the bathroom lights are off? The amount of bloody candles and smelly tea lights she has it wouldn't be for the atmosphere!!

no need for an isolator if its going on the lighting circuit it would serve no purpose apart from more cost and effort .

Off the lighting circuit is fine, I did mine that way (after 3 years of being nagged by Mrs Robo to connect it )

I would understand if someone was asking how to swap a consumer unit or rewire a house, but something like my mirror isn't that technical. If you have the skill to rewire a plug or change a light fitting then with the right knowledge you should be capable of wiring a mirror!

If it doesn't already have a heated pad in it then I'd recommend that as an upgrade to fit as well, makes a huge difference.

both mine have heated pads, you may well want the mirror on without the main light, middle of the night etc. mine have a clock and in the depth of the night the clock is enough light to see my ++++, I put the mirror on if scrabbling around for painkillers!
