The local farmers' store has LED tubes in, branded 'Energizer', but (obviously) made in China or somewhere.
As some of the existing fluorescent tubes have turned their toes up and I'm running out of replacements (not bad for a decade's worth of light, they lasted well enough) I thought it's about time to go the LED route now the prices locally have dropped to sensible levels - a tenner each.
I bought one as a sample and promptly broke it by being careless, leaving it leaning against a bench, from where it slid onto the floor and busted.
Nipped in and snagged another four, to do two fittings with. However, when I fitted two to the first fitting, it was looking a bit anaemic, so added the other two.
Result! 4000K of LED goodness, flooding that end of the workshop. According to the bullchit on the packet, that's 2150lm each, so more than 8K lumens in total.
The colour balance is about right, neither too cool or warm.
Only got another four fittings to do now, but I'll leave off converting them until the last of the fluorescents dies off, just work my way along them, swapping remaining good tubes in until they run out.
