Lechler epoxy primer

Grigio grey is standard light grey, already tinted. You needs 2 coats, more if you want to flat back.

Cheers chaps, I read somewhere that they send translucent if not specified, was worried for a minute! Paints4u emailed me this morning:

Yes, it is already tinted. We can do it to any RAL or British standard colour, however, if you do not specify, we tint it to a standard grey for you.

Out of interest what colour primer would be best for Black top coat? The primer Nissan used is white, pain for stone chips but at least I can see when I get them

Its a compromise between being able to see where you have been with your top coat and stone chips not being too obvious.

If you are going to use the grey epoxy and a primer filler on top, then (if you can find it) a black primer filler would be ideal. That way you know if you've still got the epoxy to protect the metal when you get a stonechip.

Looks like they have stopped selling the lechler epoxy.....where is the cheapest place for it..

Any Lechlar dealer should have it, paints4u seem pretty good

It was paints I was looking on mate. I guess I can ring then when I need it. What's the difference between that and the cheaper stuff as I am nit doing car, just some fabricated metal parts..

Its on their website. I find the Lechlar to be the best one out there, I've tried most of them and when I tried PPG I was surpised how poor it was compared to the Lechlar considering it was 3 times the price !!!

Its not listed under primers, type epoxy into the search box and it looks like they are selling it in 5 litre tins only now.

If you need a smaller quantity I have used HB Body epoxy primer from Refinish Systems and couldn't really tell a difference.

Jotun stuff is definitely not as good for car work, but ok for fabrications. But again it's only in 5 litre tins.

I thought Langy could supply it in smaller quantities? If not, I have a source and can supply any quantity in any tint.

I did but got jerked around to much so I don't bother anymore

I found it but does it come with hardner/activator as I only see one tin

Activator & thinner is usually extra, If it don't mention it I don't think you will get it

Their new website is impossible to navigate. It really annoys me. And no longer free p and p either. I have used them in the past and service was good.

Thinners I can understand but it's useless without activator. ..I guess that's so it looks cheaper...lol

No it's because you can have fast or slow hardener. I was told by the rep if you are applying in lower temp use the fast.

There are different activators mate

Ah I see thanks chaps. All I am covering is some tubes welded to a plate with holes in so I was thinking the cheaper the better but not so sure now. Lol but I will use the fast hardener whatever I choose I guess..lol
