I am painting some panels and have just had to sand back the last coat of epoxy with 320 grit, nothing finer would cut it. I need to give it another coat now, but would like it a lot thinner, so that I might be able to go wet on wet with the topcoat.
I have used my FastMover LVLP and my DevillBis GPI gun with 1.8 nozzles and needles. Paint is thinned to 10% and ambient is around 16C. Pressures as recommended at 22 PSI and 2BAR respectively. Fluid control on the DevillBis is as recommended with one thread showing. I have tried variations on the adjustments.
The paint seems not to atomise properly, laying on the panel in a textured fashion. It does flow out to an extent, to resemble an orange peel problem. Any tips please?
