ive got one, they are handy, the hinge is broken on mine
but it makes no difference ive not used it in the last 10 years or so

One of these can be really handy if you are testing something that you are not sure about, lets you wind up the voltage slowly so you can smell it before it goes bang.
As a teenager using my dads old metal cased Black and Decker drill with the knackered switch, after he was invalided after a stroke, being skint and unable to afford a plug . . . screwdriver in the earth, wires shoved in the L&N . . .when it jammed and I started to rotate with the drill, the safety feature was to pull the cable back out . . . either that or it self-disconnected as it wrapped around . . ;-) . . .

What's wrong with a three way chocolate block on the end of a lead with a 13 amp plug? I have one such lead, and also another with no chocolate block, but boot lace ferrules on the wires. Make testing wire ended and terminal ended kit a doddle.
OK until you forget it's plugged in and you take an uninsulated screwdriver to it. The Safeblocks disconnect the mains when you open them.
above -- fair point.... however working around electricity, I usually have my head screwed on the right way and pay attention... as such remembering to unplug first with the wagos has not been an issue to date.

they can be had for 20 quid on ebay maybe cheaper not worth the hassle of using anything else if you have the need to connect cables frequently
