    Hi,

    I've got a cheap mig welder from Lidl this week. I thought it might be good to start by learning to weld. Does anyone have any youtube recommendations for learning to weld?

    @HarryC

    Welcome aboard.

    Read the set up, read the forum and dive in.

    BBut if it is the one I saw in my local shop, bin the mask and invest in a decent one.

    As a newbie, I totally agree with the above :thumbup: There is some really good stuff on Y/T but you'll end up always watching and never welding. The mig tutorial on here is brilliant, as is all of the advice, and is all you need to get going, so get some steel and start welding. If you balls up, so what, just check the tutorial, and do it again, and again, and again, and again …………………………. ;)

    +1 for binning the mask that comes with it. Get an auto darkening mask. Makes it a LOT easier.
