Just as an aside, on the welding course I'm on - I've been doing MIG - I elected to have a go at TIG a couple of weeks ago - guy set the machine up - Big Kemppii thing - huge - anyway - gave me a demo - weld looked perfect. Easy I thought - I've been doing MIG for six weeks so no problem ...
Christ! This TIG stuff must be all fine technique - I was hopeless! I had a go for about an hour and then went back to the MIG as I don't really need to learn to do it and it was just to see how I got on ...
One day maybe, but I take my hats off to you guys ...
My instructor didn't seem to be doing anything differerent to me (so I thought) - but of course he was ...
I know it's practice, practice etc and you don't learn these things in five minutes but I've never know something that looks so easy to do, be so difficult! Was going to take some pics to show you how bad I was but there was no point really - I was just bad.
Instructor produced another beautiful weld for me as if to rub it in ...
I'll stick withe MIG for now ...
