I have no time for religious fanatics of any flavour, I can see my self be becoming anti semetic if Israel continues on its current path. The Jews will get no sympathy for the holocaust with what they are currently doing, in this age, it is worse in my mind.Ahh but not for the right reasons!

Most did not subcribe to the party out of belief or free will. If you didn’t, you didn’t eat. My late father in law was a devout catholic German. He used to tell the story of being shot at by the nazi guards , who thought it hysterically funny that children would try and steal potato peels from the Army rubbish dump as they were starving. At the height of the Nazi party, less than 14% of Germany. belonged to the party, and it debatable as to what percentage of that hadn’t joined under duress

Yes theres many reasons, food, family, security, patriotism and propaganda.. but dont suggest the vast majory of Germans were innocent.

Just highlights the futility of war and how people think their excrement doesn’t stink because they support the “right” side. How many innocent German women and children died because of our actions? Nobody is right in war, we also need to remember the suffering our bombs caused over there. It was a two way $hit street that doesn’t need to be travelled again

Of course not all Germans and Austrians were bad but plenty were.
And remember after the war most senior government posts in Germany went to people who narrowly escaped the Nuremburg war trials.

My perception is that most of the german soldiers believed either in the war or that they needed to win it for their/familys survival. There was nothing half arsed about it.
I'd agree, Russians do not want to be fighting in Ukraine unfortunately its a tactical nessesity for Russia. I dont like it, I dont support it, but it is more complex than the BBC would have us believe. I do not see the current policy of supplying western weapons, ever ending well.
I saw that South Koreans are now protesting against the joint US military games and want a more peaceful relationship with the North. They see the tensions caused over Taiwan and the problems the US seems to be causing all over at the moment.

The German people 75 years ago were rather different to the German people now. I have nothing against them - went out with a very nice girl from West Berlin in my early 20s.
Was rather shocked though when her and her friend decided to go skinny dipping in the sea at Mumbles. In broad daylight - in December
And I also mentioned my aunt was Austrian - and was even in the Hitler Youth! But she didn't try to defend or excuse what happened.

It’s all got to do with greed and natural resources. If a country say like Zambia decided to invade Zimbabwe, do you think Trillions of foreign military support would flow in? Two letter answer required. Zimbabwe no longer is the bread basket of Africa like it was in its Rhodesian heydays, so there is nothing of value for the West, so they don’t get involved.
Military aid is prolonging the suffering . We look very good, generous to a tea by giving away so much hardware. What most don’t realise is it’s a very clever move to get soon to be out of date equipment replaced. Most sophisticated military weapons have a dry stored service life of around ten years before they are scrapped. A lot of the hardware that made its way to Ukraine was supplied in 2014, so due to be scrapped soon.
Nobody going to oppose an increase in military spending we we gave all our kit away to a friend in need…
