Hi all
Have been toying with the idea of getting a mig welder for some time. I have a project about to start that will probably need various welds so now seems to be the right time to buy.
I started off with about £100 to spend on the bay as it will only be very light use, so didn't want to spend too much.....................................Well then I came across this forum, and that went out the window! Every time I cross referenced any welder in my price range (or usually just above) I found the same comments being repeated over and over "I'm having problems with the wire feed" or similar. So have now decided to do the sensible thing, for me, and up my budget and go for a new Clarke 151en as this seems to be the right model for me with good reviews.
I would like to thank all the contributors here who have probably saved me £100+ or cost me £100+ depending on if you're a glass half full type
so give yourselves a big thumbs up.
I do have two questions though.
1 is Machine Mart as good a place as any to buy from? As seems a reasonable price.
2 Is there anybody around the Reading area willing to lose an evening or Sunday afternoon to give a novice some hands on pointers, for beer money?
Mark
