Leaking filling loop

Hi ..hoping for some help with the above..
It's weeping from the plastic knob,there's some corrosion on the nut above but that's dry .
There's an isolation valve above the loop but non past the other end of the loop ,I'm not sure what the small nut head is on the body of the left side joint but I'm guessing it's not an isolation valve.
If I shut the isolation valve above the leaking righthand side and shut off the mains stopcock am I going to get wet if I try to remove the loop to replace it?

the item on the left is a non return valve so the flexible pipe loop should be able to be removed if that's what you meant

If it's the r/h one that's the feed from the cold to fill the heating, you can isolate and replace without draining heating

Just turn water off IE house.the iso valve is likely just to isolate the boiler cold inlet

I thought the same. The PO of my house has fitted them everywhere. I found some in the garage - 50p stickers still on them 'bargains' from the local less than a pound shop. They're on the rads (!), sinks, toilets, and even the rising main as the main stop locks for the house and cottages!! They all need replacing and bever using as they all.leak once used!

Strictly speaking, the flexible loop shouldn't be a permanent fixture. I've yet to see one that has been removed in between uses.

The upper compression fitting on the leaking valve also seems to have a weep.

Turn off the water at the mains stopcock. If here's one close to the tank that feeds the filling loop, then use that one (but be aware that the tap washer may have perished). Open a couple of bathroom cold taps and wait for the water to stop flowing. Put a bucket below the loop, disconnect the flexible loop. Remove and replace the filling loop stopcock. The bucket should catch most of the water.

If you want to be safe

Turn off water with the stop tap turn on cold water in thr kitchen to drain and cold water pressure and then turn tap off (or it will leave a way for air to get in to system when you remove the filling valve)

Using a radiator bleading valve take the pressure in the boiler down to zero (this will take quite a while using a blead valve 15 mins or more)
Turn blead valve closed



Once that's done there should be only the water in the filling loop left should have a washing up bowl under when you remove one end of the filling loop drop excess water in to the bowl undo the other end and go to local plumbers and get a replacment and do thr lot at the same time

And agree with above don't touch the small iso valve looking at the age of it it will defo leak
