I would do it sooner rather then later before it bursts and scalds you or a passengerJust wondering if anyone can help.
Ive noticed coolant seeping into the passenger side footwell of my van.
A friend suggested it may be a heater matrix leaking- has anybody changed one of these on a Maxus and are they difficult to reach?
Cheers,
Mike
You can always join the inlet and outlet together bypassing the heater until you have time to repair it
correct, it'd do for the summer
normally what i do is remove the longest pipe and just pop it in place where the other pipe originates. Doesnt matter if it kinks abit as it doesnt have to flow and sometimes better if it doesnt flow coz it can short circuit the main rad.
Then come October there will be a rush again to get the heater fixed for the winter.
MK 3 escort you could remove matrix without removing dashI once bought a Escort estate off the ebay for £25. It was basically sound apart from apparently a heater matrix leak and a head gasket problem. I decided to give the car a good going over and ended up welding a sill and repairing the battery box. To change the matrix meant taking the whole dash out. Quite a job but as I had the welding to do I wasn't too bothered. I got a new matrix and when I removed the old one I decided to pressure test it and guess what? There was nothing wrong with it! Although both the pipe clamps were tight upon removal I reckon it was leaking from one and going into the car! Moral of this story, check the pipe clamps before embarking on a long job just to ensure it is the matrix.
